UPDATE ON WILLIE in the Philippines

As many of you know +Christian Family Church has been supporting Pastor Willie Lumantas and the ministry in the Philippines for many years now. 

At our recent Mission's Conference in October, brother Willie shared how he and another pastor were taken and interrogated by terrorists who wanted to know why he was there. They told them over and over the same story, they were there to preach the gospel. 

Finally, after hours of interrogation, they took brother Willie and the other pastor out and tried to execute them both with 30 rounds of bullets at a close range. 

Willie said he and the pastor were praying in the Spirit and claiming the Scripture "No weapon formed against me shall prosper".  Isaiah 54:17

After they unloaded the 30 rounds and could see that nothing had happened to both Willie and the other pastor, the leader said, "What do you have that you are not hurt?" Willie shared Jesus with him and he gave his life to Jesus and so did several of the other terrorists. 

The above picture is after Willie had been beaten and shot. He only had the whip marks and a red mark where one bullet had bounced off his body! Amazing!  He said that God gave him that as a reminder of His saving power! 

Today, Willie and the ministry in the Philippines are facing new challenges with the +Typhoon that hit their village. Five families have been killed and they have many needs.

PHILIPPINE UPDATE: 

Here's an unedited TEXT we received from him yesterday. He had not been able to get to the bank to receive the $6500 we sent for AID this week. 

"Hello! I't willie! Did u got my email? U can call me on this #. We'r totally wiped out. 5 of our pastors w/family perished. 80% are homeless on d area. We nd HELP+ PRAYERS!

Just got your text as I am 139mls south of tacloban ciry to get a signal on cp. I will be taking a boat to mindanao to communicate with you Guys. Sorry, can't access bank. People are hungry and sick. So hirrible situation. Thanks for being thier for us. 

Thanks for prayers! Mindanao is the only area I could get food supplie & medecines.
I need money ti get it. I want to have a truck load of rice and can goods to ake back home this time, western union is the only way. U can call me by 5 pm u'r time at 001-999571888."
